NEWTON FALLS - Donald Eugene Gearhart passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at his home in Newton Falls with his loving companion Robin Chermanski by his side.
Donald was born in Westmoreland, Pa., the son of the late Vernon and Gail (Fair) Gearhart on June 22, 1930. He lived in Newton Falls since 2004 and is formerly of Lordstown.
Donald married Katherine (Westfall) Fife on April 26, 1974, and she passed away on Sept. 8, 2004.
He was a foreman at RMI Titanium in Niles where he worked for more than 40 years retiring in 1986.
Donald served in the U.S. Army in the Armored Center at Fort Knox, Ky. He was a Life member of Shorty's Sportsman Club and past president. He was also a member of The Newton Falls VFW where he loved playing Horseshoes. Donald also loved to play corn hole and gardening.
He survived by his loving companion Robin Chermanski with whom he made his home in Newton Falls; his son and daughter-in-law Allan and Jill Gearhart of Utah; a grandson Chris; and two granddaughter, Luiz and Celest. He also will be missed by his loving pets, Bella and Zero.
He was preceded in death by a sister Martha; and two brothers, Russell and Lisle Gearhart.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls, at noon with calling hours from 11 to 12. Veterans services will be provided by the Newton Falls Veterans at Lordstown Cemetery.
