NEWTON FALLS - Kenneth J. Snyder, 56, of Newton Falls, passed away Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at Hospice House in Poland.
He was born Sept. 29, 1953 in Southington, the son of the late Carl I. and Mary Alice (Butler) Snyder. He had worked for many years at Home Oil in Newton Falls and was then employed as a maintenance man at Hiram College. He really loved being an uncle and was a real history buff. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially watching and feeding the birds. He also enjoyed canoeing and kayaking.
Kenneth is survived by his brothers, William of California, Philip (Debbie) of Windham and Patrick (Barbara) of Durham, N.C.; sisters, Mary Alice ''Susie'' Lane of Newton Falls, Patricia Evans of Braceville, Margaret ''Peggy'' Hacker and Debra (William) Giron, all of Newton Falls, and Elizabeth (Garry) Horton of Texas. ''Uncle Kenny'' will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Ohio 44231. Funeral Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Fr. James Lang officiating. Burial will be at Windham Township Cemetery.
The family suggests donations in Ken's name be made to Hospice of the Valley/Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, OH 44514.
