Dominick M. Stigliano 1912-2009

WARREN - Dominick M. Stigliano, 97, of 3380 Curtis Ave., died at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009, at Hospice of the Valley Hospice House, Poland.

He was born Oct. 30, 1912, in Colobraro, Italy, the son of Vincent and Elizabeth DePizzo Stigliano.

Dominick was a masonry contractor for 55 years, founded the Columbus Christian Assembly in 1939 and pastored for 18 years. Today the church has grown in membership to more than 1,000.

He was a member of Niles Christian Assembly and was an ordained minister for 70 years for the Christian Churches of North America, now known as the International Fellowship of Christian Assemblies.

He enjoyed gardening, reading, mall walking and writing, and he wrote and titled an autobiography called ''God is Faithful''

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Eva Bernardo Stigliano, whom he married Oct. 3, 1942; two sons, Vincent Stigliano and his wife, Cheryl, of Warren and Jerry Stigliano and his wife, Kelly, of Orange Park, Fla.; two daughters, Elizabeth Crognale and her husband, Ron, of Delran, N.J., and Debra Gohn and her husband, Chuck, of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Esther Stigliano of Syracuse, N.Y., and Sarah Chiodo and her husband, Joe, of Sharpsville, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Pantalone, Rita Sabella and Theresa Rubbo.

Friends may call 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home, Niles. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Niles Christian Assembly, with the Rev. John Mizgerd officiating, preceded by a 10:15 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Pineview Cemetery.
