Taylor Diane Nelson, 5, was granted her angel wings on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, following complications from a bone marrow transplant.
She was born Feb. 24, 2004, in Warren, a daughter of Brent and Heather Graham Nelson. She was attending kindergarten at St. Rose School in Girard.
Taylor was a 5-year-old fashion diva, who enjoyed dancing, singing and playing outside with her brother. Her most precious time was spent shopping, cooking, and being her mom's best friend.
Taylor leaves behind many wonderful family and friends that supported Taylor in her courageous fight with cancer. There will remain a special place in our hearts for "Team Taylor" because of their continual dedication, love, and support Taylor was able to meet some of the most demanding medical challenges. All of these special people, too numerous to mention, provided Taylor with love and dignity in her life and also in her death.
With Taylor's passing we will miss her precious smile and her ability to make our hearts melt. We were able to create such blessed memories with our family and we truly hold the highest privilege of being her parents.
Some people dream of angels, we were able to hold our Princess Taylor in our arms and we will cherish her for the rest of our lives and beyond.
She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Brent and Heather Nelson of Girard; a brother, Brent Nelson Jr. at home; maternal grandparents, Andrew and Diane Graham of Howland; paternal grandparents, Gerald and Kaylyn Nelson of Howland; maternal great-grandmother Clara Graham of Warren, and uncles Andy (Andrea) Graham of Delaware, Ohio, and Jason Graham, Christopher Graham and Brian Nelson, all of Howland.
She was preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather Gust Graham, and maternal great-grandmother Bertha Evans Uber.
There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose Church in Girard with celebrant the Rev. Steven J. Agostino. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road N.E., Warren, and Thursday morning at the church one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to "Team Taylor" at any PNC (formerly National City) Bank location or c/o WRP Investments, 4407 Belmont Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44505.
