New-vehicle title registrations in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties beat only the 1,006 total in February, according to a report Wednesday from the Automobile Dealers Association of Eastern Ohio.
It was the 17th straight month of declining new sales compared to the prior year month dating back to a gain of 114 in May 2008, when 2,666 new vehicle title registrations were reported, over May 2007.
Dealers' best sales performance recently was 2,246 new cars and trucks in August after the government-run Cash for Clunkers incentive program, although that still left dealers 96 vehicles shy of the year-ago figure.

How are BMW & other "quality" car sales going? My Dad just bought a new Lexus & I ordered a new 3 series (BMW) for my daughter. Quality will always sell. Junk, on the other hand needs gimmicks & "cash for clunkers" (clunkers) US made I bet.

Sales will continue to drop until dealers stop trying to rip you off. Giving you less than what the fair market price for your trade-in and selling you a new car at next to nothing in the discount area. Example: My trade 02 Acura RSX 162,000 miles Trade-in price $2800 Two weeks later siting on the lot with a $7900 price tag on it.

What's the big deal? Didn't you ever see those newsreels of life behind the iron curtain. When Obama is done socializing our country, we won't need private cars. We'll all live in public housing, ride public transportation, and have government health insurance. The only private vehicles will be limos needed for Democrat politicians to ride around in.

It is quite difficult to get financed for a vehicle when you are on unemployment.
