Lela F. Sprague 1930-2009November 11, 2009FOWLER - Lela F. Sprague, 79, passed away Sunday afternoon, Oct. 25, 2009, at Meadowbrook Manor Nursing Home. Mrs. Sprague was born Aug. 16, 1930, in Youngstown, a daughter of Benjamin and Cleda Williams McCaughtry. She worked as a medical transcriber, retiring from Warren General Hospital. She belonged to the auxiliary of Mecca Moose and the Eagles in Hudson, Fla. She enjoyed spending time with her family, her friends and her dog, Josh. She also enjoyed playing cards, fishing, boating and refinishing furniture. Lela married Lester ''Toppy'' Sprague, Aug. 13, 1949, in Kentucky. He preceded her in death in 1994. She is survived by three daughter, Deborah (Carl) Yeager of Burghill, Yvonne (Henry) Pollack of Clarksville and Joyce (Kim) Dunford of Apsley, Ontario, Canada; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dona Luster of Fowler and Rosalie Como of Huntington Beach, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Glen Wilson. A time of gathering for family and friends will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Hartford United Methodist Church, 6846 state Route 305, Hartford. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. Donations may be made to the Kinsman Public Library, P.O. Box 166, Kinsman, Ohio 44428, or to the Salvation Army, 270 Franklin St. S.E., Warren, Ohio 44483 in her name. (special notice) |
