GIRARD - James J. Stevens, 77, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009 at Lee Memorial Hospital, Fort Myers, Fla.

Jim was born Oct. 21, 1932, in Girard, a son of Edwin and Agnes Knight Stevens.

Jim retired from General Motors-Delphi Packard Electric and was a member of St. Rose Church.

He was a Navy veteran, serving in the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley A. Maas Stevens; children, Daniel J. Stevens, Donald J. Stevens, Dennis J. Stevens, Doris J. Stevens and David J. Stevens, all of Girard; sisters, Joan Funaro of Girard and Patricia Geho of Youngstown; brothers, Ted Stevens of Fort Myers, Kenneth Stevens of Howland, Ron Stevens of Sandusky and John Stevens of Niles, and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Rose Church, preceded by a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. at the Blackstone Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Interment will take place at Girard City Cemetery.
