Janet A. Zoccole 1931-2009

BROOKFIELD - Janet A. Zoccole, 78, passed away unexpectedly at 9:49 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at Butler Memorial Hospital after suffering a heart attack while taking her husband to the VA Hospital in Butler.

Janet was born April 21, 1931, in Brookfield, the daughter of Arden and Mildred (Clark) Jackson and lived in the area all of her life.

A 1949 graduate of Brookfield High School, Janet was a homemaker and a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Vienna. She was a member of the Women's Guild of St. Vincent De Paul and the Ladies Luncheon '49ers Club. She helped her husband with the Howard W. Gilmore Association Navy Reunion each year and was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. Janet enjoyed baking, cross stitch and most of all, she enjoyed mothering and grandmothering.

Janet was married May 3, 1950, to Consolato Howard ''Zeke'' Zoccole.

Janet is survived by her husband of 59 years; five children, Patricia A. (William) Grossman of Oviedo, Fla., Frank A. Zoccole of Henderson, Nev., Elaine M. (Bill) Baum of Brookfield, Connie J. (Skip) Humenik of Brookfield and Shane A. (Floreme) Zoccole of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two sisters, Dorothy (Tom) Frazier of Brookfield and LaVerne Hall of New Jersey; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and by her pet dog, Belle.

Family will receive friends 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at the Lane Funeral Home, Madasz Chapel, Brookfield.

Services will begin at 9:15 a.m. Monday, with closing prayers to be said in the funeral home and then continue with Mass of Christian Burial to be offered at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Frank Zanni officiating.

Entombment will follow in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.

The family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Janet's name to the St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 4453 Warren Sharon Road, Vienna, OH 44473.
