Annabelle R. Fusselman 1918-2009

SOUTHINGTON - Annabelle Ruth Fusselman, 91, of Southington, died at 8:10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at her home following a brief illness.

She was born Oct. 22, 1918, in Canfield, the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Grace Alice Lawrence Bortmas.

Annabelle was a homemaker who loved to do cooking, baking and sewing. During World War II, she worked for Republic Steel. She was member of the Southington Garden Club and she enjoyed studying genealogy and collecting antiques.

Mrs. Fusselman is survived by three sons, Kenneth C. (Lynn) Fusselman II of West Farmington, Rand D. Fusselman of Southington and Rick E. (Joyce) Fusselman of Cortland; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and her caregiver, Jacquelyn Fus-selman of Southington.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Kenneth C. Fusselman, who died Feb. 24, 2003, and whom she married on June 2, 1940; a son, Timothy Fusselman; four sisters, Mildred Priscilla Pershing, Olive Merelda Lewis, Clarice Gail Bortmas and June Alice Warner; and three brothers, Alton Franklin, Emery Lloyd and Lester Lawrence Bortmas.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where Pastor Randall Riley will officiate. Family and friends may visit from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday and also one hour prior to the service on Monday.

Burial will be at the Pineview Memorial Park.
