Housing unit sales fall; prices stabilizeNovember 4, 2009 - Tribune ChronicleHousing sales in Trumbull and Mahoning counties slid in September, although the selling price showed signs of life, according to a Youngstown Columbiana Association of Realtors report Tuesday. Trumbull County sales dipped 9 percent to 132 units from 145 in September 2008. Sales were flat compared to August's 131 sales. Mahoning County sales were off 8 percent at 174 from 189. Sales slipped even more compared to August's 197. The median price of a Trumbull residence was $75,000, down from $79,900 a year ago but better than $63,447 in August. The median price in Mahoning County was $81,900 versus $78,900 a year ago and $79,000 in August. Trumbull County residences spent a median 72 total days on the market, similar to 73 total days a year ago. Mahoning County residences spent a median 84 total days on the market compared to 76 total days a year ago. |
