KINSMAN - Karen Swartz, 69, passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 1, 2009, at Orange Village Care Center, Masury.
She was born Oct. 29, 1940, in Sharon, Pa., a daughter of Lauren and Jennie Gill Templeton.
Mrs. Swartz retired from Packard in 1983 as a press operator after working 19 1/2 years. She was a graduate of Sharpsville High School where she was a majorette and in the band. She was of the Methodist faith.
She was a member of the Good Sam Club, the O.E.S. Kinsman No. 518, a CB radio club with the handle of ''Pepsi,'' was affiliated with Rainbow Girls and DeMolay, and was a former Cub Scout den mother.
She enjoyed camping, Indians games, bowling, playing bingo and gambling.
She is survived by her husband, H. Wayne Swartz, whom she married Oct. 4, 1969; two daughters, Bonita (Charles) Fertig of Sharpsville, Pa., and Rebecca Smith and Richard Broll of Hartford; a son, Lauren Thomas of Kinsman; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her mother of Masury and a very good friend, Sonja Black.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael and her father.
Friends and relatives may call at Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 state Route 7, Hartford, from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Sharpsville, Pa.
