ORANGEVILLE - Charles W. Smith, 70, of Orangeville, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at his home.
He was born Jan. 13, 1939, in Orange-ville, the son of Walter A. and Hazel L. Hayes Smith.
A lifelong Orangeville resident, Mr. Smith was a 1957 graduate of Vernon High School.
He served in the United States Army and was employed as a maintenance mechanic for General Electric in Warren for 38 years, retiring in 1995. He also owned and operated Ramy Swine Farm in Orangeville.
He was a member of the Trumbull County Antique Tractor Club and collected Farmall tractors and antique cars.
Mr. Smith always attended his grandsons' sporting events.
He is survived by his wife, June L. Mesmer Smith of Orangeville, whom he married July 9, 1966; his daughter, Amy L. Smith of Vernon; his son, Randy C. (Bridget) Smith of Orangeville; his three grandsons, Tate, Carson and Caden; and his four brothers, George (Eleanor) Smith of North Bloomfield, Allen (Dorothy) Smith of Orangeville, Roy Smith of Gustavus and Robert (Debbie) Smith of Davey, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, where calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
