Janet Monroe 1940-2009

WARREN - Janet Palmer Monroe, 68, of Warren, died Monday afternoon, Oct. 26, 2009, at her home.

She was born Dec. 9, 1940, in Lyleville, Pa., the daughter of the late John and Emma Freeman Palmer.

Janet was a 1959 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and lived in the Warren and Cleveland areas most of her life. She retired as an inspector for G.E. Ohio Lamp, where she worked more than 10 years. Janet was of the Presbyterian faith and was a member of the Warren SCOPE.

Her husband, Thomas Monroe, whom she married in September 1959, preceded her in death in 1964. Her son, Neal Thomas Monroe, died in 1995; and she also was preceded in death by one brother, Donald L. Palmer in 1998; and by one sister, Emma Jean Palmer.

She is survived by her niece and caregiver, Cara (Darryl) McIntosh of Bristolville; a sister-in-law, Colleen R. Palmer of Southington; one sister, Faye (Harry) Baker of Conemaugh, Pa.; one brother, John R. Palmer of Coalport, Pa.; six other nieces and seven nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Roberts-Clark Funeral Chapel in Warren, where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Friday. Funeral services will be noon Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Graham Cemetery in Southington.
