NELSON - John ''Jay'' Laning III, 50, of Nelson, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2009.

He was born June 26, 1959, in Garrettsville, the son of John and Malinda Williams Laning Jr.

Jay was a handyman.

Survivors include his mother of Winthrop, Maine; wife, Elizabeth; daughters, Jessica Duvall of Brandon, Fla., Anna of Newton Falls and Jaclyn of Nelson; brothers, Mark of Mantua and Eric of Northfield; sisters, Gwynne D'Amico of Glenside, Pa., and Wendy Barrow of Cincinnati; and a grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Garrettsville, followed by services at 3 p.m.

Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Garrettsville.
