LEAVITTSBURG - Elizabeth Y. Woodyard, 78, went to be with the Lord at her home, Friday, Oct 2, 2009.
She was born, Oct. 19, 1930, in Byesville, a daughter of the late Joseph and Effie Cale Young.
Elizabeth retired from Packard Electric having worked as a molder.
She was a member of the First Community Church of Leavittsburg. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
Elizabeth was the beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother of, a son Roland ''Woody'' (Cherie) Woodyard of Niles; two daughters, Sally Fisher and Mary Kay (John) Bancroft both of Warren; five grandchildren, Amy (Kenny) Pesa, Mark Woodyard, Laura Woodyard, Jason Osborne and Andrea (Travis) Patchin; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Kay and Emma Lee Patchin and Tyler Pesa. Also surviving are four sisters, Betty Price of Atlanta, Georgia, Mary Hall of Newton Falls, Sarah Zigmont of Warren and Virginia (Roland) Shanower of Warren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Dearman Woodyard on Dec. 26, 1969; two great-grandchildren, Vincent and Luke Pesa; four brothers, Glenn, Olan, Calvin and Owen; and two sisters, Viola Mullen and Lilly Greathouse.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Carl W. Hall Funeral Home with calling hours from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Oct. 5, 2009, at First Community Church of Leavittsburg, where funeral will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor John Jaros officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Knoll Cemetery.
