Three county teams ranked in state
Tribune ChronicleThree Trumbull County teams are in the top 10 of this week's state football polls.
Howland (5-0) moved up one spot in Division II to No. 7 and has two first-place votes.
The Tigers should have no problem keeping, if not advancing, in the poll after this week, as they take on winless Beaver Local.
Girard (5-0) advanced two spots in Division IV to No. 5, while McDonald (5-0) is up to No. 10 in Division VI.
The Indians will look to keep up their unbeaten record this week as they host Niles. McDonald squares off against league foe Jackson-Milton.
Cardinal Mooney (5-0) and Poland (5-0) remain at No. 1 and No. 3, respectively in Division III. Steubenville (5-0) is sandwiched at No. 2 between the Cardinals and Bulldogs.
Canfield (4-1) is No. 15 in Division II. Ursuline (2-2) is No. 14, while Springfield (4-1) is No. 16 in Division V. Western Reserve (5-0) is No. 16 in Division VI.
