The Trumbull 4-H Advisory Committee is hosting a Fall Family Fun Day for 4-H families in Trumbull County from 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 24 at the Wildare United Methodist Church in Cortland.
Every year, a formal banquet is held to wrap up the year and to thank all volunteers, but this year the committee wanted to make it a more family-friendly event. The day will start with games and activities for everyone. Youth volunteers will be on hand to lead the various activities, including pumpkin painting, corn hole, apple bobbing and more. A fun and interesting entertainer will take the stage at 2 p.m. with a potluck lunch / dinner to follow at 2:30 p.m. An awards ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m. with additional games and vision screening to follow for children ages 3 to 5.
"The people who volunteer in our program spend a lot of time and resources to provide a positive and fun experience for the 4-H members. We would like to thank them for all their hard work and have fun at the same time," said Michelle Adkins, 4-H Extension Educator for Trumbull County.
"We also recognize the financial strains on families today and want to make this a no-cost family-friendly event," Adkins said.
Families are asked to bring a potluck dish only . The Trumbull County 4-H Advisory Committee will provide the main dish, drinks and paper products. There is no cost for this event, however reservations are due Oct. 15 in order to plan accordingly. Reservation forms are available online at trumbull.osu.edu/4H/4h.html or by contacting the Trumbull County OSU Extension Office at 330-638-6783.
