LIBERTY - Margaret Eckelberger, 85, passed away Monday morning, Sept. 14, 2009, at Hospice of the Valley Hospice House.
Margaret was born July 31, 1924, in Emlenton, Pa., a daughter of William L. and Cora Belle Altman Boyer.
She was a 1945 graduate of Youngstown Hospital Association School of Nursing.
She was a registered nurse for Western Reserve Care System for 37 years, serving in many capacities in supervision before retiring in 1986. She was a member of Liberty Senior Citizens and Retired Nurses Association.
She was a member of Liberty Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a deacon and an elder. She was a former member of its Women's Association and the Mary Circle.
She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her husband, Warren Eckelberger, whom she married Oct. 18, 1946, passed away May 25, 1975.
She is survived by her children, Gary A. (Barbara) Eckelberger of Southington, Patricia (Michael) Bundy of Canfield, Karen (Bill) Susany of Girard, Roger (Sandra) Eckelberger of Harrisville, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and her brother, Ronald Boyer of Segal, Pa.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert Boyer; and her sister, Alice Oyler.
There will be services 11 a.m. Thursday at Stewart-Kyle Funeral Home, where there will be calling hours 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.
