Marilyn E. Bowers 1949-2009

BRISTOLVILLE - Marilyn E. Bean Bowers, 60, of Bristolville, died at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009, at Hospice House, Poland.

She was born April 24, 1949, in Geneva, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Arleen White Bean.

Marilyn was a 1967 graduate of Grand Valley High School and worked for several years in the accounts payable department of Global Plastic Technologies in Burton until June of this year.

Marilyn attended Shekinah Church in Bristolville.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting and building stuff with her boys. She especially loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband, Joel L. Bowers, whom she married May 31, 1987; her mother-in-law, Mariam Bowers of Bristolville; her stepmother, Hazel Bean of Lodi; her children, Marcia St. John of Champion, Diane (Rudy) Schlosser of Warren, Scot (Mandy) Busser of Johnston, Todd (Michelle) Bowers of Newton Falls and Doug (Amy Hileman) Busser of North Bloomfield; 11 beloved grandchildren, Rachael St. John, Zoe and Ava Schlosser, Mikayla, Monica, Philip and Spencer Busser, Brittany and Hayden Bowers and John and Camren Mazzola; brothers and sisters, Ken (Carol) Bean of Trumbull Township, Bette (George) Willis of Windsor, Larry (Betty) Bean and Terry (John) Ault, both of Hartsgrove, Willard (Jac) Bowers of Yardley, Pa., Elizabeth Cathey of Bedford, Texas, Geri (Fred) Chee of Denver, Olive Kay Curtis of Southerland, Va., Bruce (Sandy) Bowers of Champion and Debbie, Robbin and Ilene Bowers, all of Bristolville. She also leaves her forever friends, Kolleen Mauric and Nancy Shinkle.

Her father-in-law, Gerald Bowers; her brothers, LeeRoy and Ron Bean; and her parents all have preceded her in death.

Arrangements are being handled by Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel in Cortland, where the family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, followed by the 1 p.m. funeral service with the Rev. James L. Koehler officiating. Burial will be at Sager Memorial Cemetery in Bristolville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.
