2 found dead in WarrenAugust 3, 2009 - By AMANDA SMITH-TEUTSCH Tribune ChronicleWARREN - Two people were shot and killed early Sunday morning on the city's southwest side; three people's lives have been ended by violence in the past week. "We have several possibilities for a motive," said Warren police detective Wayne Mackey. A warrant has been issued for Michael McDonald, 25, in the shooting deaths of two people. Police were called to the 1700 block of Colt Court at 3:10 a.m. Sunday, after residents in the area reported gunfire. A man and a woman were found killed in the center parking lot of the apartment court, which is owned by Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority, Mackey said. The identities of the victims are not being released pending notification of their families, police said. Tribune newspartner WYTV 33 News reported the victims were Mocha Jones, 25, and Dante Broadus, 31. Police are investigating whether McDonald knew the pair. Court records show McDonald was convicted of three crimes in the past six years. Anyone with information on McDonald's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Warren police at 330-841-2512. On July 28, Craig Holliday was found dead from stab wounds in the bathroom of his North Park Avenue apartment. Holliday, 39, was stabbed in the chest after an altercation over beer and cigarettes, police said. Melanie Ferrell, 37, of Warren, faces a charge of murder in the stabbing, which happened about midnight at USA Gas Mart, 858 N. Park Ave., next door to the apartment Albright shared with Holliday, police said. |
