James H. Van Huffel 1928-2009

CASSOPOLIS, Mich. - James Howard Van Huffel, 82, died following an extended illness at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at his home with his family by his side.
James was born April 14, 1928, in Warren, a son of Edgar and Elizabeth Van Huffel. He graduated from Warren G. Harding High School and attended Youngstown State University. James worked for the Van Huffel Tube Corp. for 38 years. He resided in Warren the majority of his lifetime, where he was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church.
Survivors include three sons, David and James Jr. (Sandy), both of Warren, and Steven Van Huffel of Cassopolis; a daughter, Jennifer (David) Lawrence of Sharps Chapel, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Bridget Van Huffel of Cassopolis, Amy Van Huffel of Bowling Green, Ohio, and Gregory and Joanie Lawrence of Lantana, Fla.; and a brother, Phil Van Huffel of Grand Rapids, Mich.
Preceding James in death were his parents; a son, Jeffery J. Van Huffel; brother, Edgar Van Huffel, and sisters, Christine Feeney and Ellen Baughman.
Services will be 5 p.m. today at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Cassopolis. A special memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Blessed Sacrament Church in Warren.
The family requests that memorial tributes be given to Hospice at Home Inc., 4017 Chamberlain Road, Buchanan, Mich. 49107.
