GREENVILLE, Pa. - Edna Mae Fair, 99, formerly of Orangeville, Ohio, passed away Wednesday evening, June 24, 2009, at St. Paul Homes, Greenville, Pa.
She was born July 6, 1909, in Bradys Bend, Armstrong County, Pa., the daughter of George W. and Irene King Lynch.
Mrs. Fair graduated with honors from East Brady High School in 1927.
She was a homemaker, moving to Ohio in 1941 with her family. Many years ago, she had been a secretary at the Brickworks in Bradys Bend.
On Dec. 16, 1929, she married Walter G. Fair, who passed away Oct. 16, 1989.
Mrs. Fair was a member of the Orangeville United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, and the Orangeville Literary Club. She had been a clerk on the election board in Orangeville. She enjoyed her family, her church, cooking, gardening and sewing.
She is survived by six daughters, Jane (Don) Harnett and Doris (Allen) Klingensmith, both of Vernon, Donna Krumpak and Louise Semroc, both of Greenville, Pa., Diana (Edgar) Phelps of Westlake, and Peggy (John) Schuller of Vienna; one son, Edwin (Mary Jane) Fair of Sharpsville, Pa.; 25 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anna Steiner, Ardelle Flanigan and Betty Shakley; and many nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by one brother; four sisters; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and two sons-in law.
She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.
Friends and relatives may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Galloway-Onstott Funeral Home, 3451 state Route 7, Hartford, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Orangeville United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. at the church.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
