Mildred Beatrice Marshall 1917-2009

McDONALD - Mildred Beatrice Marshall, 92, died at her daughter's residence in Howland Tuesday, May 5, 2009.

Mrs. Marshall was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Farrell, Pa., the daughter of Robert G. and Beatrice R. Bowen Woods. She came to this area in 1936.

She was a graduate of David Anderson High School, Lisbon. She worked at U.S. Steel McDonald Works during World War II and later worked for McDonald Grade School Lunch Program. She loved working in her flower garden, and enjoyed traveling and camping.

She was member of Woodland Park United Methodist Church, McDonald, Senior Citizen and a volunteer at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home, Niles, as well as a member of the McDonald Community Chest.

Her husband of 33 years, John, died July 20, 1979.

Mrs. Marshall leaves her daughter, Arlene Boozer of Howland; her two grandsons, Kevin Marshall of Yuma, Ariz., and Jeffery Marshall of Warren; and two great-grandsons, Joshua and Connor. She also leaves a brother, Gilbert Woods of Williamsfield; one nephew, Gilbert Woods Jr. of Mineral Ridge; and two nieces, Patricia Gault and Cathy Woods; a great-nephew, Brandon Woods; three great-nieces, Sara (Woods) Gardner, Sophia and Anna Gault; along with two great-great-nieces, Katie and Ellie Gardner, all of McDonald. Mrs. Marshall also leaves her son-in-law's children, Lou Ann Torjusen of Norway, Randy Graham of Greenville, Pa., Vernon Boozer Jr. of Cleveland and Lynn Blohm of Prescott Valley, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; her son, Brent; son-in-law, Vernon Boozer; and a great-grandson, Tyler; sisters, Florence Antolini and Geraldine Noble; and brothers, Vernon and Robert Woods.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodland Park United Methodist Church, with the Rev. McHale officiating. Visitation will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Blackstone Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
