David Zatvarnicky Sr.-1953-2009

NILES - David Zatvarnicky Sr., 55, 50 Washington Ave., died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at his residence.

He was born June 2, 1953, in Youngstown, the son of Peter and Minnie DiMuzio Zatvarnicky.

David was a 1972 graduate of Girard High School and was employed for 10 years at U.S Steel McDonald Works and Packard Electric for 23 years before retiring in 1998.

He enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, loved animals, attending car shows and was an avid Cleveland Browns and Indians fan.

He will be deeply missed by his parents of Girard; his wife, Jeanette Helmheckel Zatvarnicky, whom he married Nov. 19, 1985; a son, David Zatvarnicky Jr. and his wife, Amy, of Girard; a stepson, Stephan Krenciprock of Niles; a stepdaughter, Natalie Krenciprock of Mineral Ridge; a brother, Peter Zatvarnicky Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, of Youngstown; two sisters, Lynn Brown and her husband, Richard, of McDonald, and Lila Miller and her husband, Jim, of Berlin Center; and three grandchildren, especially Hayley Krenciprock, who resided with him.

Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Larry Frient officiating. Burial will be at Pineview Cemetery.
