WARREN - Franklin D. Davis, 74, 1840 Deerfield Ave. S.W., died at 11:40 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born May 11, 1934, in South Hill, Va., to William Matthew and Lillie Mae Powell Davis.

He had been a self-employed cement mason.

Franklin is survived by his sons, Timothy F. Davis of Macedonia, Prince Allen Davis of Warren and Camara Dean of Warren; brothers, Woodrow Davis of Warren and Matthew Davis Jr. of Union City, Calif.; stepdaughter, Jessica Richardson of Warren; his companion, Valerie Gunther; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Sterling-McCullough Williams Funeral Home, Warren Chapel, where calling hours will be held one hour prior to services. The family will receive friends at 1144 Pearl St., Warren.

Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
