KINSMAN - Lowell H. Burr, 84, of Kinsman, passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.
He was born Oct. 27, 1924, in Espyville, Pa., the son of Raymond and Esther Tidd Burr.
A lifetime Kinsman resident, Mr. Burr was employed by Peerless Electric, U.S. Steel McDonald Works and then was a self-employed truck driver.
After retiring from trucking, Mr. Burr worked for Quality Care Nursing Home in Cortland as the maintenance man.
He attended the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Mr. Burr was a foster parent, opening his home to many children over the years. He also loved animals, loved to garden, woodcraft and play chess. He especially enjoyed spending time with his two granddaughters.
Mr. Burr is survived by his wife, R. Jane Green Burr, whom he married Nov. 17, 1952 ; his son, Randy (Carla) Burr of Gustavus; and two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Allison Burr, both of Gustavus.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Archie and Alley Burr.
Private services will be held at a later date. Burial of cremated remains will take place in Kinsman Cemetery.
