Patrons try to thwart robbery at Warren bar
Tribune ChronicleWARREN - Two bar patrons tried to detain a bandit shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday, when the bar's cash register was looted after a barmaid left the bar momentarily.
Police eventually arrested Michael J. Krevas, 22, of 163 Forest Street N.W., charging him with robbery - a second-degree felony. He remained in Trumbull County Jail after pleading not guilty Friday in Warren Municipal Court. His bond was set at $5,000 in advance of a preliminary hearing Thursday.
Police say they believe Krevas was the third patron sitting at the bar in the Army-Navy Club 283, 1334 W. Market St. Krevas is related to the barmaid, who left to use the restroom, the police report states.
A man and woman said the other patron jumped over the bar and stole $81 from the cash register.
The two patrons tried to grab the man, but he wrestled free, leaving his left shoe behind.
With a description given by the witnesses, police arrested Krevas a short time later on First Street N.W., the report states.

What a Dummy! If there is liquor on the backbar, it makes it a whole new ballgame for that rocket scientist.

Well, at least it wasn't Up A Creek Tavern. Seems like they're always thrown into the news.
