4 p.m.: Investigation says former Ohio AG misused aircraft
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) An investigation has found that former Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann misused state aircraft to travel to and from his Youngstown home and twice took his daughter on flights for which she wasnt authorized.
Three state transportation officials also improperly used state planes to commute, according to findings released by Ohio Inspector General Tom Charles.
The report depicts the Ohio Department of Transportations management of its 30-aircraft fleet as haphazard, inconsistent and lacking proper documentation.
Dann resigned in May amid a sexual harassment scandal in his office involving a top aide. He also had an extramarital affair with a subordinate admitted he fostered bad office behavior and hired ill-qualified friends.
A message seeking comment was left for Dann on Wednesday.
