WARREN - David D. Brown, 48, died Friday, July 18, 2008, at St. Joseph Health Center after a brief illness.

He was born Dec. 24, 1959, in Warren, the son of LeRoy Jr. and Marilyn Jones Brown, and had lived in Trumbull County all his life.

Mr. Brown was a graduate of Lakeview High School and served with the U.S. Marine Corps and the Marine Reserves, including a tour of duty in Norway during the first Gulf War. He had worked as superintendent of public services for the City of Cortland. An expert marksman, he enjoyed shooting and hunting. An avid bicyclist, he had competed in many races and had built several custom-designed bicycles. He also enjoyed sailing and fishing.

Surviving are his father of Cortland; and two brothers, Dean L. Brown of Franklin, N.C., and Dennis M. Brown of Ravenna.

His mother preceded him in death.

There are no services or calling hours. Cremation is taking place. Material contributions may be made to the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence Inc., 244 East 58th St., 4th Floor, New York 10022.

Arrangements are entrusted to McFarland & Son Funeral Services Co.
