Rocco A. Alexander 1920-2008

He was born March 31, 1920, in Youngstown, the son of Rocco and Catherine Inuzzi Alexander.
He served in the Army during World War II in the Philippines and was awarded four Bronze Stars.
He was retired from Youngstown Sheet & Tube and was a member of St. Rose Church.
Survivors include three children, Fran Alexander of Mineral Ridge, Kay Quirk of Columbiana and Richard Alexander of Bradenton, Fla.; two sisters, Ann Prato and Rose Takach, both of Youngstown; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, the former Carmel Funge, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Anthony and Fred Alexander; and three sisters, Josephine Croutch, Mary Jones and Louise Mitchell.
Calling hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McClurkin Funeral Home, Girard.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Rose Church, with prayers at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Girard City Cemetery in Girard.
