Irene L. Simmons 1913-2008

LIBERTY — Irene L. Simmons, 95, died Friday, May 30, 2008, at her residence.

She was born May 25, 1913, a daughter of Joseph and Pearl Karol in Pittsburgh. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Rose Church.

Survivors include two sons, David Simmons, with whom she made her home, and Thomas Simmons of Essex Junction, Vt.; a daughter, Phyllis Roth of Boca Raton, Fla.; and five grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley W. Simmons; and a son, Ronald.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rose Church, preceded by a 10:30 a.m. prayer service at Blackstone Funeral Home. Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. Adalbert’s Cemetery in Pittsburgh.
