Julia G. Infante 1913-2008

Julia was born Aug. 24, 1913, in Niles, Ohio, the daughter of Frank and Maria Antoinette Marzano Cordy. She moved to Warren in 1939.
Julia retired as a baker from The Players Restaurant on Mahoning Avenue in Warren. She also was a self- employed seamstress and baker for 35 years.
Julia was a member of St. Mary’s Church and its Altar and Rosary Society and the Ladies Auxiliary of ITAM Post 30.
She was a Precinct Committee Woman for 25 years and had been very active in the Democratic Party. Julia was also very involved in the Warren Italian Festival for many years.
Julia enjoyed traveling, crocheting, cooking, baking and making Infant of Prague outfits.
Her husband James R. Infante, whom she married July 22, 1939, died Sept. 4, 1956.
She is survived by a daughter, Judi Infante of Warren; six grandchildren, Steven (Toni) Roberts of Dallas, Renee (Eric) Hovanec of Niles, Joanne (Don) Componation of Mineral Ridge, James Infante of Warren, Angela (Chris) Bell of Mecca and Lawrence (Tiffany) Infante of Howland; eight great-grandchildren, Niko Roberts, Alexis Hovanec, Derrick Bagby, Derreck Lauer, James Infante Jr., Alex Bell, and Mia and Landen Infante; a brother, Ermine ‘‘Buddy’’ Cordy of Girard, and three sisters, Elizabeth Moro of Hershey, Pa., Yolanda ‘‘Dolly’’ St. Onge of Walledlake, Mich., and Marie Accordino of Niles.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, James Jr. and Lawrence J. ‘‘Larry’’ Infante; a great-granddaughter, Brittany Hovanec; six brothers, Frank ‘‘ChiChi’’, Jerome ‘‘Ricco’’, Louis, Dominic, Samuel and Vincent ‘‘Jim’’ Cordy; and a sister, Fannie Cordy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at St. Mary’s Church in Warren, with Rev. Bernard Schmalzried officiating. It will be preceded by a 12:30 p.m. prayer service at The Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at The Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel.
Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Warren.
