Want to improve the looks of the city? Tear down the junk houses and junk, empty business places. Leave the businesses that are trying to make a buck alone. Get some priorities.

Put these politicians on straight commission. If business dips, do foes their pay. If business improves, then so does their pay. The flees shouldn't prosper when the host is suffering, figuratively speaking.

"Franklin said since the city began enforcing the ordinance, Youngstown Road, which was the first area inspected, is visibly more pleasing."

Is there another Youngstown Rd in another local city this quote is referencing? I'm quite sure he couldn't mean the one here in Warren.

I hope they do away with that silly person who dresses up like the statue of liberty and distracts drivers on Elm Rd.

Let's just table this deal for now, and deal with the real issues. Streamers and flags have been used forever on car lots, and buildings, likewise. The last time I checked, we had a few shootings, some of which were fatal, robberies, and games needlessly cancelled because of fear in the city. I know of nobody who is scared of a sign, flag, streamer, or banner. Solve what is more important right now!

I respect Doug and Enzo as intelligent people. Don't let the unintelligent people on council mislead you. The strip (422) was full of car dealerships 15 years ago now there may be only a couple remaining. Let's help them to succeed not hurt them. You should have gone to them to see how you could help rather that expect them to know what you're doing with council. What about the councilman that sells cars out there. jim valesky. Where was his head..... Up his a--

I have to agree that city counsel should be spending more time on real issues. A banner or a thug with a gun killing somebody over a few bucks or an old car. It appears city counsel may fear that addressing the real issues would should a blatant incompetence in their ability to accomplish anything real.

Both comments are absolutely right, Warren Council members remind me of children making up rules while playing tag. These folks do not inspire confidence and seem to lack basic intelligence & decision making capacity.

Unfortunately you voted these folks in, likely due to the truly knowledgeable citizens having no interest in small town politics.

My solution is simple, make Council a non paying position with 2yr term. That will eliminate paycheck hustling career politicians and insure motives are altruistic. Warrens problems begin with its political structure...

the city idiots are scared of the violence in the city. all they can handle is picking on the good people in this city they can't handle the real issuses. when the people start taking it in there own hands maybe the city idiots should be first on the list.

Way to promote bringing in more business Warren. Do we really need to have taxpayer money wasted on these types of topics. How in the world does this take priority over violent crime in the city? We need to be a business friendly community if we really want our children to stay in the area and have paying jobs that can keep them here. Come on community leaders use some common sense, if your advertisements are in good shape then leave them alone and if they are deteriorated and an eye sore give the owner a notice and opportunity to fix the problem rather than penalize all the responsible business owners, enough with your all mighty dictatorship and rules and promote free enterprise! If this is what I am paying for I will do my part and vote everyone of you idiots out of a job and get someone that will work on more important issues.
