I love to hear global warming people talk about Sandy. There was an exact copy of Sandy in the 50s. Went up the east cost. As I pointed out in the other letter to the editor, seems if we weren't alive when it was hotter or worse or the same storms were around that they never happened. Most of the records we almost beat in the summer are from the 40s and we usually just come close to beating them. AP just did a story about how global warming scientists have been intimidated to show results supporting warming by politicians and world governments. Yes lets invest a few more billion in solyndra, money well spent. Money scam. They had the Chicago Climate Exchange all set up to trade trillions of dollars worth of CO2. Strangely enough, Al Gore owned a bunch of it. Im sure its just cause he is concerned about the Earth that he was going to make billions trading air. Insane.Lets wreck our economy to fix something that can't be fixed by us,that we did't cause. While China goes ahead and prosper

Also don't cry when your electric bill is 800 a month and there are rolling blackouts. We got to shut down those coal plants. It's so important that we need to before we can even replace them with anything. Smart. I blame people like you when I can't afford to drive to work anymore or pay my electric bill.

News Flash For You Francis, All it takes is ONE, 1, Volcanic eruption to produce more greenhouse gases than all of mankind has produced in our entire existence.

Global Warming is REAL! How else do you explain all the once in a hundred years floods or snow storms that are happening every year now. Pollution is killing our planet one day at a time. Coal is a major source of that pollution, not to mention the mercury that it places into our environment.

Hey Warren, do you know that one hundred years means nothing in the Earth's 4 BILLION plus years.Do you think that all of the various ice ages happened because people stopped burning coal those years? We didn't even exist then. It's nature. Quit trying to make people so important .We are but a SMALL part of this Earth also.

I think if your worried about mercury you should probably tell your government to stop forcing us to use light bulbs that have a bunch of mercury in them. You have to go through a big special process to dispose of them, wonder how many people do that? Whats actually going to happen is most people will throw them in the trash and the mercury in our landfills will start to poison our ground water. Also most of those light bulbs are made in china, nothing like the previous and this administration forcing us to pollute and helping Chinas economy grow. And people are worried about fracking lol.

look, the fact that there has been NO WARMING the past 15 years does not slow you liberal nuts down at all? the amount of co2 in the air has increased yet no warming? ALL of the predictions have been proven false!! they haven't been right about anything, not once? 100 year floods happen its called weather, some of you must want for $500 electric bills and $8 gas, and even if we do all the democrats are demanding it will have no affect on greenhouse gases, we need co2 to live. and last who gave the E.P.A. the constitutional right to make laws? we now have a forth branch of government that is not elected or accountable to the people. we are living in a post constitutional America, i cry for my country that our forefathers died to build..

There is NO evidence that increased carbon in the atmosphere is harmful. In fact it is the opposite. Higher concentrations of CO2 is hugely beneficial to crops and agriculture. Look it up. In the lab and in the field, the connection has been observed between the industrial revolution and the expanded food supply.

We must continue to repudiate the climate alarmists' phony claims with the facts.

Funny how many people are experts when it comes to global warming. Al Gore is the smart one. He laughs all the way to the bank.

"Global Warming" was a misnomer as it should have been called "extreme weather events" from the beginning. The human effect has without doubt exacerbated the regular climatic trends but people have a point: Why should the USA pave the way while other countries are burning fossil fuels like there's no tomorrow ? No one is going to follow our lead on this one.

long term benefits of using Energy Efficiency and renewables instead of constantly paying for energy are true no matter your thoughts on climate change. and personally, I like my mountains whole, without excavator tracks on them!

ThomEE says,"long term benefits of using Energy Efficiency and renewables instead of constantly paying for energy" Do you actually think you won't be "constantly paying" for so called renewables? Don't you also know that coal, oil, and natural gas are also renewable? Do you think that whatever force made them, quit making them?

Get your facts straight. There is no peer-reviewed scientific evidence that one volcano emits (has emitted in recent history) more CO2 than all of humanity for a day or month or year or decade or in all of history.

snopes****: modern-day anthropogenic activities exhaust into the Earth’s air around 400 times as much CO2 as all the surficial volcanoes of the planet put together.

US Geological Survey: "Human activities release more than 130 times the amount of CO2 emitted by volcanoes."

The Iceland volcano eruption was estimated to have released less CO2 per day than a small modern country in Europe. Even if it erupted all day every day for a year it is < 1% compared to human pollution.
