builderbob - I drove by Summit Racing Equipment in Akron on I-76 yesterday on my way back home from the Summit Mall. They have a sign out on that freeway that says HIRING NOW, and I checked their website. They have many jobs open for those seeking employment. The improved economy is working. President Obama is doing what we elected him to do and the NeoCon Republicans are NOT with their threat to shutdown the government and cause massive layoffs.

A key factor in this area is CEO's and the "upper" 2% of a company make 70% of a companies profits. But yet they expect the hard working employees to take cuts and give backs. Any one see the greed factor taking our country over. Than they send in efficiency experts to streamline a company. Results less workers and more work, oh yeh and less pay and benefits. What a shame for such a once great country. Best wishes to all of us!

Daniel, "lets just pass this bill and find out what's in it later". This kind of logic is what's wrong with this country Any business in America has the right to pay their workers their scale, schedule their hours and use full time or part time workers, this is NOT against the law. You and I both know what happening with businesses right NOW, they are preparing for the implementation of Obama care and they will make the adjustments necessary to benefit their business and investors, like it or not they are going to do what is necessary to maximize their profits. Obama care, while having some good points, is NOT the answer at this time, sorry if you can't see that, I would suggest you start talking to business owners for their feedback, I have!

jonathon, if they use What is doing the right thing as an excuse to cut benefits, work hours and pay scales, then this can be solved also. Hefty fines and jail time for those doing it.

Most of you liberals haven't seen anything yet, when Obama care is fully implemented "if that does happen" you will see more changes with jobs, benefits, work hours and pay scales. Many people are starting to wake up to the ramifications that are attached to this bill. Don't believe what I say, just sit back and eventually all will become known, hopefully not too late for America.

Employers practice discrimination against hiring anyone over 50 years old, even though they tend to be the best workers who come to work every day. Good luck in your job search.

Herald, Best of luck to you. You, I and many others fell victim to the great recession. It used to be that employers had respect for their employees. Not any more as seen by the widening gap between the rich and everyone else. More proof that they can afford to pay more and afford to pay benefits also. There is no excuse on their part any longer.
