This really has nothing to do with religion. Child molesters are everywhere in every walk of life. At the same time I agree that the Amish get away with quite a bit under the guise of religious freedom. I'm glad that they're starting to prosecute the ones who break the law. It's sad that people have so romanticized the Amish and their lifestyle without any justification for doing so.

FLEPSTER, I wasn't commenting on her covering her face, it was a way to identify the person I was pointing out flipping the guy off. Try using your cap lock key, you won't look like such a dullard.

mssmith, I am sure you are right!Seems it was the same in the Catholic Church until it became to big to cover up anymore. Of course the Amish use fear tactics to keep theirs quiet.I know that many do not want to accept the truth about the Amish but everyone needs to wake up and give up the Little House on the Prairie mentality. Yes every person makes mistakes/ every religion, but we cannot hide behind our faith when we disobey the laws. We certainly cannot run to our Minister, Rabbi,or Priest and have them handle it.There is unrest out here in Amish country because most people are tired of the two sets of rules that exist in many areas. It would seem that the State and this County could use the revenue generated by fees for drivers ed, permits while learning, stickers or plates mandatory on all buggies. Not to mention some type of liability when they are the cause of accidents. The meeting that was held in Mespo was a good start but our local politicians need to attend as well.

SearimEagle the bishop sent him there. The girls went to the bishop first then when nothing got done they went to children services. I think the bishop should be charged in the cover up of this.

The Amish knew what he had done! I believe he was arrested in PA.where the Amish are sent to their own recovery facility. So who sent him there and why? Are they not as responsible for not turning him in to face the punishment of our court system? Someone knew exactly what he had done!It is time that they learn that they live in a country where we all obey laws in spite of our religious convictions! It is time that Ohio quits enjoying the tourism money and sees that there is a real problem with the Amish and their disrespect for the laws they set forth for the rest of us!This creep lived only minutes from my home.

THE AMISH DO NOT LIKE TO BE PHOTOGRAPHED, THAT IS WHY SHE IS COVERING HER FACE. IT TOOK A LOT OF COURAGE FOR THEM TO COME FORWARD AND SEEK JUSTICE. YOU CAN NOT ALWAYS TURN THE OTHER CHEEK. THE DEVIL SLIPS INTO ANY COMMUNITY.

Well he'll be a popular guest in his new state housing arrangement. My guess is he won't like the same treatment in his new arrangement that he induced on his victims. I'm sure his new friends will care almost as much as he did as to how it makes him feel. Both physically and mentally. Enjoy your new found sexuality freak. It won't be what your used to, or more than likely find pleasurable.

Religion and control has been the breading grounds for horrific actions like this in other sects too. The poor innocent children are the victims of this life scaring crime. This POS needs to pay and pay heavily for his actions. Please, don't let him hang his self and get off easy.
