July 7, 2013

Area school districts have a lot to digest with the new $62 billion spending plan that Gov. John Kasich signed last week — including a late addition that will affect future school levies....

Non-property owners should NOT be allowed to vote to increase property taxes on other people.

Fund schools with a sales tax levied which will, instead, tax citizens on their available spendable resources equally in proration to what they have available to spend.

School property tax system is NOT illegal in itself. It's the EXTENT to which schools are funded by property tax. This action by Kasich & Company FURTHERS the extent to which the property tax is used to fund schools. Perhaps NOW the Ohio Supreme Court will do something to rectify the situation. Nawww****

I'd say Sherry Champion has a teabagger mentality. She thinks educating students is something she doesn't benefit from. Perhaps she'd rather pay to house them in prison when they drop out of school and have no option but a life of crime. Someone paid for her to go to school now she needs to pay for someone else to go. Sherry would rather move than pay $4.38 more a year? Her budget is so tight that 37 cents a month is going to wreck her lifestyle? Sherry I say move out of the valley as we need people to help the next generation and this community is "really not getting any benefits from" having your self-interested type here. If you decide to stay contact me and I'll send you $4.38 to keep you out of the poorhouse.

Since Ohio has not seen fit to fix the illegal school property tax burden all new and renewal levies should be voted down. Starve the beast. Let the school boards and their supers lobby for a better method. Obviously as long as the money flows nothing will change.

The NeoCon Republican State budget benefits only the richest 5% of Ohio taxpayers. The rest of us will pay more in property and sales taxes then they receive by the income tax cut.

The "Local Tea Party people"? Where do you live? There are only 17 voters in this county that are not Democrats! Lets say something like, I hope all the "local retired NASCAR drivers"

I bet the local tea party people just love these NEW Taxes imposed by their leader. The Gov. has took all their taxes that were to be used locally and set up his buddies while adding extra taxes to the local communities to make up for the losses. Basically the GOP/Teaparty has taxed everyone twice.

Oh well, They were warned of the consequences of voting them in and could not comprehend logic. Hopefully this can all get repealed when the rest of the GOP/Teaparty becomes a thing of the past.
