Solid points Freedom and Crap you both give thoughtful statements. I can't really agree with legal drugs but you two make it tough to argue down. Afret1 seem to envy those more knowledgeable than himself which is everyone. Cudos to Crap for ignoring a nitwit who does no more than comment on comments trying to instigate. What a jerk you are, grow up you're totally out classed!

Next time the excitable Barney Fife drops napalm from a C130! Remember how the cops in Cleveland shot up the two druggies who had their chevy backfire (mistaken for a gunshot)? A woman in California was shot by mistake because she was driving a pickup like the one that disgruntled excop had (the one they surrounded and burned in a cabin). Excitable people with wild imaginations should not wear badges. Stay cool, do the job like a pro or do something else.

Simple surveillance may have shown how many people were in the house, but not what kind of weapons were inside.

Cops are out of control these days. A helicopter with a sniper to apprehend two people in a residential neighborhood? If these were violent drug dealers, they may have shot the chopper, causing a crash into nearby houses. What is wrong with just sending half dozen armed cops to set up a perimeter? Chopper was a waste of tax money and dangerous stunt. It also blew shingles off a nearby house. I agree with the arrest, but use some common sense. Simple surveillance would show little reason to bring the air cavalry.

Sounds like undiagnosed mental illness SBAZ or extreme drug use /w mental issues. I've seen what you describe but its always due to multiple causes.

I like your arguments FT, you make an excellent case for legalization. People so easily forget drugs exist in many forms, are sold in many forms, and in most cases are accepted by society.

Pharmacies sell more dope than any street hustler and cause more damage but because they're sanctioned by Gov. we look the other way. Children raised well will find no need for drugs no matter how legal they are...

This is an ugly conversation, but in truth the drug does destroy the brain PERMANENTLY. I have had many patients that tried the stuff, and have never fully recovered. They count with fingers, laugh at inappropriate times and are not in tough with their body temperatures (Winter clothes in Summer) and can not relate to what is being said and was was said earlier... the will answer to unasked questions. Most seem calm, but extremely confused until further sue of the drug... than comes the animal like behavior, when all human instinct is lost. It costs us to house and care for them medically for life. PITY, PITY, PITY. Poor choices... and poor US.

@Billdog - Really? ALL drugs lead to crime? How about caffiene? Nicotine? Aspirin? It's the war on the American people that your idol Reagan started that causes the violence! Remember how the violence ended when "Prohibiition" was repealed? If you really wanted to keep the "children" safe, you would demand drugs should be legalized and regulated. Otherwise, your still beleiveing in the "Reefer Madness" lie.

These type of drugs are sold to children. What is the rationalization that says that is okay? If adults want to ruin their lives I have no issue with it, however, all drugs lead to crime. Theft, murder, assault, domestic violence, etc... I could care less about the moron issue some have with drugs. I hate the effects it has on the innocent victims, small children, spouses, grandparents, elderly, etc... Although not a fan of Ronald Reagan, I believe that was his intent with the war on drugs.

So they kept to themselves and sold products that their customers wanted to buy. And the crimes they committed and the victims are? Are? Are?

It seems that in the War on Drugs, an inanimate item(controlled substances) is the enemy, and willing buyers and sellers are its soldiers, and I and many other unwilling taxpayers are being forced to bankroll this war.

"scumbag drug dealers"? "Losers"? Really? What about Anheuser Busch, Seagrams, US Tobacco, Pfizer, Rite Aid, Wallgreens, etc? You people need to educate yourself and realize this is a war on the American People. “If people let government decide what foods they eat and what medicines they take, their bodies will soon be in as sorry a state as are the souls of those who live under tyranny”. – Thomas Jefferson
