Public represented on turnpike plan

June 23, 2013

DEAR EDITOR: I must take issue with the title of your recent article, “Public silent on pike plan.” The public did indeed speak. They spoke through their elected officials shortly after Gov....

Couldn't agree with you more Citizen1. You use you pay. We noticed these changes recently traveling through North Carolina. Was a bit of a pain stopping every so often, but the roadways were immaculent. I do not mind helping to maintain useful services. I do mind being forced to pay for programs I find to be a total waste.

Rush doesn't have anything to do with the Ohio Turnpike.

1.Bond money will get more Federal dollars for a total of 3 Billion dollars. 90% of this money will be spent within 75 miles of the Ohio Turnpike----Speed limit will be raised 70 miles per hour--Sorry Ohio State Patrol

Ohioans that enroll in E-Z pass will not see increases

In the past the Turnpike has continually raised rates-

Everything should be free according to the socialist simp.

She's not paying for anything so why should she care?

All roads & bridges, in this country, should be toll free.

Senator Cafaro helped me get the appliance rebate when our former governor sent the call center jobs to El Salvador. They refused my rebate, even though it was perfectly legit, and they attempted to taunt me "you must be mad that we took your jobs". I wrote a letter Senator Cafaro, not 12 hours later did I receive an e-mail stating that my rebate had been approved. She is a rep for the people.

I've sent letters to Tim Ryan about other things and even called his office, not once did I get a response.

The writer is a prolific activist and is entitled to his views. In fact, he brings a perspective that makes one choose a position on all and all political topics. That noted, Senator Cafaro not only represents Trumbull but Ashtrabula and parts of Geuga in her role. Her reasons for support of the turnpike plan are clearly defined on her Senate web site which all are encouraged to judge for themselves. She has served her District 32 well and is in touch with her counter part from the writers District 33 and local State Represenatives as we would anticipate. One must question if this piece is a against the Senator or personal rant as the writer once filed action against the Ohio Turnpike Commission.

I don't mind the turnpike plan, but it does unfairly tax the residents of Northern Ohio.

I have a simple fix. Make all major state highways toll roads. The people who use the roads pay for their upkeep. Novel concept, I know. Any excess funds get factored into the following year's toll prices.

I am glad to see that the right-wing club that meets here, is in favor of wealth re- distribution.I do not agree with the writer of this article, but at least BOTH parties were criticized.I didn't vote for K-sick,and I won't the next time either, but he got this one right!I applaud him for not selling it,or leasing it for 99 yrs.to foreign interests. We have a two party system, and must take the good ideas from BOTH parties and help our STATE and COUNTRY to prosper.

Ms. Cafaro has NEVER understood where her district is. Trumbull County in case she read this! When in NE Ohio, she spends most of her time in Mahoning County. The boys over there must not have told her how to vote on this one.

The Teamster Union said it was the greatest Christmas gift the workers in Ohio ever received..Remember that,,,The Democrat Mayor of Cleveland appaulded the Governor's plan for improving 230 miles for Northern Ohio.

The Turnpike was not sold, plus it is a great Jobs Plan. VBob(socialist) Hagan, Joe Sciabaloney, Ron(i've had every govt job possible) Gerberry.. These 3 are examples of the local (Disappointment Party)
