Go to the state house and ask the (R) Governor for the money back that he stole.

jaybyrd77, Sherry did offer solutions. Just like the ones she has used. Make sacrifices (that would be up to the people running the schools what those sacrifices would have to be,) cut cost (again back to the board.) I have a great deal of respect for teachers and educators in general, however, school districts only have so much money. They can only hire so many teachers, and can only pay them so much. I'd like to see School Boards go back to a volunteer position again, administrators paid a realistic salary instead of some ridiculous salary. Currently our superintendents are draining the pot with their own salary and staffing.

Sherri, have you ever met a politician that could resist spending a penny that wasn't his?

The writer of this letter discredits herself pretty quickly. If you think that a government budget works the same way as a personal budget you've got problems of a fundamental nature. They are not interchangeable.

With nothing in the way of facts or figures cited in this letter it's not all that clear what writer's gripes are in a specific capacity. If you want a public program to actually do something it needs funding. These people that write in constantly demanding austerity don't understand that.

Well, Sherry, what are your suggestions? I understand your complaints, but you are not offering any solutions.

Good letter and good points. As far as private sector price increases, they are related to high fuel costs to transport the groceries, etc. Who's fault is it that the gas prices are so high?

Keep voting down school levies and see how much more they cut. If you keep voting it down then your school system might not be rated excellent anymore.

Seems to me that you appear to be pretty accepting of the fact that all of those PRIVATE SECTOR Folks are raising their prices. Correct me if I'm wrong , but I didn't hear you complain about the grocery stores, gas stations, health care people, or your utilities. Can you please clarify this? Maybe I missed something.
