Until you recoup the money stolen by your Governor its a safe bet your voters answer will be NO.

Last fall the Board members said the 1% income tax on residents would equal 9.13 mills on property tax. I will not vote for a mill increase and suggest the Board respond why 4.85 mills vs the 9.13 mills the 1% income tax levy was to replicate. Straight talk is required for community support. Will they be coming after another levy if this passes? Of course the alternative is to merge with Vienna that does not have a new school. (Had they adopted the "earned income tax base" vs what they tried to slide in of a "traditional tax base" that taxes all income (pension, IRA distributiions, interest, dividends, and all social security they may have been successful.) I believe this same Ohio board published a support for the income tax.

First let me say I don't want to start an argument here but it's probably unavoidable.I'd like WarrenProud to explain paying their fair share please.I've worked for a local school system for over 30 years and am still making $17 an hour.I have always paid 10% into retirement, gone 6 years without a raise and have agreed to paying more for health care every year of those last 6 years. In regards to recouping some of the money stolen by our Governor,I believed he tried to give some of that back in his budget with the rrealization that the cuts were too deep but had his budget slashed by the Ohio House of Representatives.Maybe the real question here is whether we want public schools or private and charter schools as our main source of education. As a taxpayer I would like private and charter schools held to the same standards as public schools now that our tax dollars are going to fund them through a voucher system(audits, testing of students, background checks, etc.)

Do you pay 25% of your healthcare - then you are not paying enough!

Time for some top brass to take some cuts with the rest of the people that work for the schools.

Bulldog,I couldn't agree with you more, because where I work the top brass gets raises and also have pick-ups on retirement and health care. We felt that taking wage freezes was paying our fair share when we should have fought for a raise so we could pay more(25%) for our insurance.Of course with the wage freezes our retirement froze too but the other side of the coin was the other portion that is paid by the school(I know people don't like that we get a pension, but it's a pick-up like my wifes 401K and we will never get social security because in Ohio it's called souble dipping)never went up.You see we were trying to keep total cost down for the school and the taxpayers(remember we pay taxes too).At least in Ohio voters choose,in some states they just raise your taxes when the money is needed.Anyway I gotta go get my 5 year FBI background check thats required by law so I can clean toilets in an Ohio Public school(don't worry we pay).It would be easier to own a gun wouldn't it ?
