Nameless comments show bad attitudes

April 28, 2013

DEAR EDITOR: It continues to amaze me the attitudes of so many of our residents. Or maybe I’m just ignorant....

Warren needs leadership! If you keep doing what you have been doing, you'll keep getting the same results! Warren needs much better results than we have been getting! That will only come with fresh new leadership! And if they don't do the job then we vote them out of office too! Period!

How correct you are! It is a shame that when some believe that they are "nameless and faceless", that it is the opening for them to be without compassion, tolerance, or understanding. These same people will spout-off on subjects that they know nothing about, just for the sake of an arguement. The media is just as bad, by reporting the "news" before they have the facts straight and injecting "their opinions" into it to add drama to the story. I do not foresee any changes to these attitudes regardless of race, religion, gender, or political party.

Look around Warren - how can you not have a bad attitude about the politicians in power today like Bob Dean and Mayor Franklin? Have you not had enough of the bad streets, abandoned houses, murders, drug wars, etc. Jim Graham at least gives us hope for the future and deserves to be given a chance to show what he can do. Meanwhile, until Bob Dean does full disclosure on the $61,000 funeral contributions - he's as crooked as the day is long in my mind and has no chance for re-election.

Nameless comments or not. This is how the feel and have every American right to do so.

Do I agree with everyone here? No. I do however respect their right to voice their opinion on the subject. However, it does cross the lines sometimes when people lose their cool and resort to what amounts to cyber bullying. AKA Liemonger for example has never contributed anything of value or thought except calling everyone names and the Tribune continues to let him on here with a lot of different screen names.

AS a retired Delphi employee, I was told face-to-face by Jim Graham that he would do anything to help the retirees regain their earned pensions. He then did NOTHING! I did my "research" about Jim Graham....FACE-TO-FACE. He did not stand by his word.

2 quick points. First, I have always believed you shouldn't say or write anything unless you are willing to sign your name to it. Second, you should never wait for ANY politician to make your life, your community or your country better. Being a good citizen requires far more work than showing up to vote every so often. Politicians are the horse. Good citzens are the jockey. People who vote and walk away are the folks who simply release the gate and hope their pick finishes where they hope.

Paul, unfortunately there are wayyy to many nutballs. Some things have to be said anonymonusly just for safety of loved ones. This idea in a perfect sane world would be ideal, down side of course is the piling on, and ignorant comments made for reaction factor.

However do agree with your second point.

Should note respect fact you posted on story about the walkway. Never met you but that spoke volumes.

Sammy, have three suspects to blueser, not that it matters other than upholding my "Small world Idea"...well your story already did!

Here is the real truth to Delphiretiree's constant lies regarding Jim Graham. First Delphiretiree DID NOT meet face to face with Jim Graham. The leadership of his organization did. Secondly Jim Graham told the DSRA that he would do what he could to help them. After Jim Graham met with the DSRA leadership The following happened. Jim Grahams local union went on record of supporting their cause, The UAW international union went on record of supporting their cause, The Ohio AFL-CIO went on record of supporting their cause. Jim Graham was instramental in getting all of these public acknowledgements of support for the Delphi Retirees. Jim Graham has done more to raise the issue within HIS area of influence than even the DSRA leadership has been able to raise within THEIR area of influence. Has the Delphi Retirees situation been resolved? NO! Is that Jim Grahams fault? HARDLY!

The posters that crack me up are those with multiple usernames for the purpose of supporting themselves! That much effort towards supporting ones own opinion shows true insecurity.

Been accused of being same person as samaree and recently Horatio. Took it as a compliment, because I'm not as smart as either..serious.

..... And say DELPHIRETIREE how much help has the national RIGHT TO WORK organization been in your quest. Remember them DELPHIRETIREE? They are the ones who funded your disasterous sham of a petition drive prior to the Presidential election. If you want to know why you lost your SUPPLAMENT to your pension, NOT YOUR PENSION, then take a good look in the mirror. There is NO ONE to blame but YOURSELVES.

I have not heard Bob Dean raise any issues related to the Delphi retirees in the many years he's been Council President. At least with Graham the possibility is there...

Tired - Once again, you are once again wrong. I met with Jim Graham face-to-face. Jim knows that, as well as a current Warren City Councilman, who introduced the two of us prior to our discussion. Your comment is either made up, a lie, or both.

Since you, Tired, are an ex-Shop Chairman of IUE/CWA Local 717, who would expect anything but your comments regarding an ex-UAW official. Birds of a feather flock together.

Delphiretiree is an ex-engineer at Delphi who was cut when his job performance was found lacking. Engineers with much less experience were kept while delphiretiree was let go. To help delphiretiree leave with some dignity Delphi corporation used money received from General Motors to pay him a LARGE exit bonus. Delphiretiree agreed with the exit bonus and signed an agreement that he would not take part in any lawsuit against either Delphi or General motors. That is why neither of these companies are included in the DSRA's lame suit.
