How convenient that our Clean Air Act (monitoring invisible, oderless gases that escape into thin air) still apllies to the fracking industries, but problems that cannot be easily denied or hidden by frackers, oil spills and water table contamination, are not applicable to the (oil/gas) fracking companies. They get a free pass on our precious Clean Water Act. This is known as the "Halliburton loophole", but is rarely if ever mentioned in the lapdog press.

"Obamacare" is mentioned daily as an example of the nation's executive branch over-reaching via a powerful abuse of law, but Dick Cheney's "Halliburton loophole" is different because it can be easily rationalized by free market ideologues' conservative worldview.
