April 16, 2013

Mingo County, W.Va., Sheriff Eugene Crum might be alive today if an existing federal gun control law had worked as it was supposed to. That revelation came on the very day U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W....

Soooo delusional she actually "thinks" there even a remote chance of repealing the 2nd Amendment.

Not gonna happen.

prefatory clause (“A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State”) declared the amendment’s only purpose or merely announced a purpose to introduce the operative clause (“the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”)."

Nope.

It affirmed a right to self defense, little miss DENSE.

Maybe you should go read Heller instead of wasting everyone's time with your gibberish and CRYING.

A lot like your messiah...

More people are killed by cancer than guns every year.

Maybe we should outlaw cancer.

More people are killed with hammers than so called assault rifles. Look at the FBI stats. Over 400 killed with hammers less than that killed with all rifles not just assault rifles. More people killed each year by fists than rifles. Enforce the gun laws already in effect.

Background checks are good, but getting the assault rifles and their large magazines out of this country are even more important

Yeah because assault rifles and large magazines are used so frequently! MORON!

"The Amendment’s prefatory clause announces a purpose, but does not limit or expand the scope of the second part, the operative clause. The operative clause’s text and history demonstrate that it connotes an individual right to keep and bear arms."

This editorial speaks loudly about the mentally ill and gun ownership. The editorial eludes one to believe that the Federal Government would have known that the potential buyer was mentally challenged. The question is how would the Federal Government know this, and how would the legitimate gun dealer know this? A quick read of the 3 posts on this thread by "liemonger" should give everyone a much clearer picture of the kind of mental illness restrictions on gun ownership that the editorial addressed.

"Well regulated"

Even the famous Heller decision acknowledged the government's DUTY to regulate guns, because that's what the 2nd Amendment says, "well regulated."

You little gun fetishists can keep yer six-shooters (Heller voided the D.C. law that prohibited them), but other, more dangerous military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and military-grade ammo -- no-no-no-no you can't have it.

FauxNoise's own polls backed it up -- 90% of Americans favor stricter gun control measures.

So keep yer pop-guns and yer shotguns and yer six-shooters; they're ok and you can have 'em.

(Good luck taking on the black helicopters with those -- LOL.)

(They're comin' ta git ar shootin' arns, boys!")

LOL

"The problem isn't the guns"

Oh yes it is! That's EXACTLY the problem. Too many, and too much firepower available to the ordinary folks.

An AR-15 or AK-47 is NOT merely a tool, like a framing hammer or a tongue depressor.

Nope. Big diff.

And even though each of the aforementioned can be a deadly weapon, it cannot be a deadly weapon in the same way an AK-47 or or an AR-15 is a deadly weapon.

Time to repeal 2A.
