Sam Mullet had his followers commit acts of terrorism against those who disagreed with him or left his cult. Mullet was no longer a main stream Amish leader, he became a cult leader with violent tendencies.

triumph I know the Amish are not perfect they have their bad just like we have our bad. but one thing we all have in common is the fact that we are all human. nobody should live their life in fear

I am not an Amish people fan as a whole. I think a lot goes on that we do not see and does not get reported and the other Amish who do know better just sweep it under the rug to protect the organization as a whole. I am not saying it is right. In fact it is horribly wrong. I am just very happy that those who abuse the religion or hide behind it are being discovered and punished. I am glad that punishment is harsh so that other Amish who do the same can see that they can no longer hide and they are accountable for their actions.

the piece of manure should be behind bars for all he's done and allowed to be done in the name of "faith" anyway

Imback2cu it was more than someone getting their hair and beard cut he abused his followers. NOBODY SHOULD HAVE TO LIVE THEIR LIFE IN FEAR.

to allow a rapist to walk freely among you..omg I am starting to get very angry with the Mullets. Dad can take the prison sentence for his son.. and he's got 18 spawn? Now that is really scary. They will grow up. They all probably need physc care.

no one said this religion was perfect. no one said Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Muslims or any other religion was perfect. We persecute priests who hide behind the cloth while molesting children and we are doing the same with Same Mullet because Sam tortured and abused his religious power too.

I think you're failing to see the big picture. If they gave him a slap on the wrist which would be what many consider fitting, he would go home and continue and his outrage would escalate until someone is seriously injured or killed. The man is unstable. He is no different than Jim Jones, David Koresh or Charles Manson. I hope that you eventually begin to see that.

omg..so the rapist goes free and the lunatic barber goes to prison for 15 years because he's scary and could turn out like Manson. That is sick. Something seriously wrong with this "faith"

Cults are all over the United States. Worse things are happening to those who try to leave them than hair removal;some live with the constant psychological fear of cancer or of a horrible death from curses. And threats to family members.

My perception is the punishment in this case, does not fit the crime. Put a restraining order on the lunatic. Hopefully a horse he abused will get rid of him.

also, I do not think that Mullets son was sentenced at all. Until recently the Amish have dealt with their own criminals. They never reported anything to the law. That is beginning to change. Thankfully!!!

I am not a weak minded individual who needs any type of organized religion or other human being to tell me what is right or wrong and how to live my life therefore, I cannot answer the question you posed to me about faith.

Cult leaders like Jim Jones, David Koresh and Charles Manson is the reason that cult leaders like Sam Mullet and his followers who did the dirty work got such a stiff sentence. Or perhaps we should just wait until Mullet and his followers start popping people off too?

Triumph,,,It's just so sickening. All of it. The Mullets, of course, but your "faith" isn't showing you that something is wrong with this guy and your"faith" doesn't give you the courage to do something about it until YOUR daughter gets raped. Just watch other little girls get abused and do nothing. What kind of "faith" is that? Shameful to be afraid to say a "MANS" name and consider yourself a person of "faith". Faith, in what, might I ask, that turns men into cowards.

Imback2cu yes these were grown men but if you left your life would get threatened. This guy over used his powers as a bishop. There are people who left that are still in hiding from this guy. You should not have to ve in fear of your life if you decide to leave a church.

and you are stupid enough to get into the chicken coop and give your wife away...and watch child abuse..mind control is very sinister..but these were all grown men..they should have protected their wives and children..its disgusting..and after how many years you realize its time to leave..****e on..

Our justice system really needs an awakening. Make the punishment fit the crime, that's all. Why is that so hard or too much to ask?

We need a task force to go around Warren collecting all the people that scar us and imprisoning them so we can live without fear. You know...like the sub-human animals of the night on N.Park and Washington.

Triumph I couldn't have said it any better myself. I found out even after they left the church and moved away from him he tried to make it where they could not join another church. They had to appeal to the higher ups. The higher ups heard the appeal and over turned what mullet did to them.

maybe your right..all cult leaders have to be evil to interfere with lives..it's just that there are more heinous crimes committed with less severe sentencing so this 15 year sentence seems ridiculous. And this isn't new; all people in cults are afraid of the cult leader. So that determines the sentence? cause people are afraid of him=not right

These victims did not choose to be IN Mullets cult. The victims chose to LEAVE Mullets sect because he is a nutjob. Mullets son raped a little girl and when Amish shunned him for it, Mullet retaliated by creating havoc and charging into peoples homes, pinning them down and forcefully cutting their hair and beards. There is so much more to this than simply cutting beards. The Amish fear this man so much that they don't even want to speak his name. He is true evil and he hides behind the Amish faith.
