I've met Josh twice! Fantastic young man! This doesn't surprise me at all:

This echoes it:

CLEVELAND -- Kent State's making its first trip to the College World Series and Josh Cribbs is making sure the Golden Flashes have fans in Nebraska to support them.

The Browns wide receiver, and one of the school's most famous and proud alums, has chartered a bus for fans to take to Omaha.

"I'm going to do my part in making sure those guys have a fan base out there cheering for them," Cribbs said following practice Tuesday. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

Both mom and daughter are very nice people. They are the first to offer help to anyone at church in times of need, and they deserve a break. Any parent just wants what is best for their child. Any comments of pedophilic nature are unfounded, unwarranted, and very assuming based on media's mainstream news. This is a nice guy showing concern for another person; Nothing more, nothing less. Make a child shine for prom. There is no shame upon an institution allowing this to happen. Fortunately, I went to school with a member of the Champion Board of Education, and I know that she can see right from wrong in situations such as this.

That last comment was for Mrs. Brown.

Ridiculousness and jealousy is all we are gonna read on here, so we might as well just ignore it now and stop commenting. See you at the July 4th party at L.S. house if you show up this year.

Here we go, a bunch of jealous people who had a bad childhood. Hey, I am a steeler fan but always respected cribbs. Good for Leanne! Have a blast at your prom!

I can tell you T.B. that my daughter is excited that he is coming even though she is a diehard Steelers fan just like her dang mom! What kid wouldn't be excited to meet someone famous?

Another publicity stunt. What's next, the story of another over paid athlete getting a teenager pregnant, then claiming racism.....

Well said tired. To tell you what a nice guy he is, I never even asked him. He always asks how my family is.. because he is a huge family man and he asked who she was going to prom with and I told him she wasn't going because she didn't have a date. He took my phone and called her and asked if he could take her.She has been bullied at school because kids don't believe her when she tells them that she meets the players that I work for. This was HIS way of making her senior year memorable. There is an age limit, he is technically not her date, he is her "special guest." The kids are very excited about this, anyone who isn't is just a Steeler's fan.Let them go to try to find a Steeler to do something nice.

Publicity stunt? For what? What could he or the Champion school district gain by this? You people are just now hearing about this but people who know this family have known for several weeks now. Long before it was announced he was leaving the Browns. This is nothing more than a mom who pulled a couple strings to try and make her daughters senior prom even more memorable. Not everyone has hidden agendas and they just want to do something for there family. This mom is Josh Cribbs assistant and she had some pull to do something nice for her daughter. That's it. What does the school have to gain by this? Nothing. It's out of the ordinary and no harm can be done by it. Also, all of the kids are excited about him coming. Let them have something different and don't be jealous that nothing special happened to you while you were in high school.

This is nothing but a publicity stunt...this guy is 29, married and the father of 2. Shame on the Champion Administration for allowing this to happen. Champion use to have a rule on how old your date could be if they were not a student.
