DEAR EDITOR: As a homeowner of one of the estimated 26,000 homes in Trumbull County that rely on a home sewage treatment system, more commonly known as a septic tank, I am appalled at the lack of......

Wow, if some of you would put the time and effort into fixing the broken system that you're doing here with each other, our problems could be solved.

Resistanceisapansyarse, In your world EVERYONE is corrupt but YOU. So your last post makes sense coming from you. DO YOU EVEN HAVE A SEPTIC TANK RESISTANCE?

I guess your right resistance All 88 counties in Ohio and all 50 states in the Union have the same soil. Guess I should have known that ,like YOU DO.

4seasons, You may know better than I but is the TCHB obligated or required by law to issue him a license if he requests one? That would be the first question I would ask. Second question would be even if the TCHB was not legally required to issue the license, Is there a reason the license application has not been acted upon? Then, Has there been any other installer licenses issued since Mr. Meadows applied for his renewal? If so too whom? I'm quite sure Attorney Engler has long since asked those questions. Is there any reason why that information should be kept secret?

.... or that the Meadows have for that fact of the matter. The only things I have ever heard is that the TCHB wouldn't give Mr. Meadows an installers license, and that the TCHB would not approve the type of system that Mr. Meadows wishes to install. When I specificly asked what proof there was of corruption I was told that I would read about it after the civil trial started. That is the problem I believe, that there is a lot of confusion between a Civil lawsuit for PERSONAL DAMAGES and a Criminal Trial for violations of the law.

NO resistanceisfutile, I do not support corruption at ANY level of Government. Unlike you however I don't call government officials corrupt unless I can prove that they are indeed corrupt. If YOU have some proof that the TCHB is in fact corrupt then you have an obligation to present that evidence to the Attorney General's office. If you fail to do so YOU are just as corrupt as they are. So come on Resistance let's hear the proof that YOU have of Illegal activity, corruption or kickbacks involving the TCHB.

Meadows license was not "revoked." They just chose not to re-issue it because they were waiting to on the recommendation from the hearing officer they hired. The hearing officer said no violations exist and dismiss all the violations. They are ignoring the hearing officer's recommendation. Anyone can read the full report online.

If Mr. Meadows installation license had not been revoked, Which I will admit I am not convinced was proper, he would be installing the very same septic systems that are currently being installed, and at the same cost. The situation with Mrs. Glaspell would still be the same.-, she would be required to tie into the sewer line. It is time to separate the Meadows civil claim from the rest of the human waste issues in Trumbull County.

..... And just so everyone understands, Both of the houses I own have septic systems. I am prevented from selling one of them because of the septic requirements. I don't expect, and wouldn't ask that those requirements be waived. I do not blame the TCHB for this situation. If criticism is due over the septic requirements it belongs with the Ohio EPA and the Ohio Legislature who established the legal requirements. I can not fault the TCHB if they are following the law. I have YET to hear of an example where the law regarding the installation of septic tanks in Trumbull County has been violated. The squabble between the TCHB and the Meadows family, nor the election of Mr. Hull to the health board would do a thing to change the legal requirements from the State.

The soil makeup has a lot to do with what type of system will be needed and therefor the cost of that system. Much of Trumbull County is Grey clay. Grey clay has virtually no absorption ability. To compare the type of system needed and therefor the cost of that system from one county to another is meaningless.

HAHAHAHAHAHA pretty funny resistance, as always you have added great logic to the debate. In order for this HUGE fraud to perpetrated on the citizens of Trumbull County the chain of the crime would have to flow all the way to the Ohio EPA and the Ohio Attorney General's office. This entire thing reminds me of two first grade bullies sticking their fingers in each others eyes. This school yard fight between the Meadows and the doctor from the health board is ridiculous.

reallytiredofit, Yes, I would have written this letter regardless of the outcome of the BOH vote. In the process of getting the house ready to sell, knowing the septic would need upgraded I started getting estimates and was shocked. Started asking questions and was shocked. Called the sewer office knowing that sewers are on Belmont Ave & wouldn't be run down my street. I was shocked. The icing on the cake was when my elected Liberty trustee was not allowed to vote at the BOH meeting. QUID Pro Quo status quo politics have clouded this valley. Time for it to stop.

I really think it is funny that Ms. Meadows and her group are complaining about people making phone calls on behalf of the winning candidate for the health board seat, When she and her group campaigned constantly for Mr. Hull. Again For the third time I ask, would this letter have been written had Mr. Hull have won the board seat? The county has a new board member, that is what Ms. Meadows wanted. The Septic group owes the new member the opportunity to attempt to resolve their concerns.

No resistanceisliemonger, I'm not a sheep so I don't follow the flock. YOU on the other hand, resist, are one of those people who just follow the crowd, so long as you think it makes you look manly. Maybe YOU want to allow human waste material to flow into the county's ditches and streams but I don't.

Joann, do think maybe your expectations are just to high? As politicians once elected they don't have to know anything, just how to grab the cash and fill those pockets in their baggy pants.

Really, really, really?....... I guess your problem isn't knowledge, but the ability to deduce the ultimate outcomes of the situations that you know of. Ummm......How bout ya just put 2 and 2 together? Criminal activity has already been exposed and will be a matter of record with the ongoing civil case. I guess we will just disagree but I'm right.

Jsabalo, I can assure you that I am quite aware of the septic tank issues in Trumbull County. The questions I asked are valid questions. IF you are suggesting that criminal activity is taking place then the proper venue is the Attorney Generals office. In addition I am aware of the CIVIL lawsuit that is being handled by Davis Engler on behalf of the Meadows. Let us not confuse the difference between a Civil case and a criminal one. The whole thing becomes very suspicious to me when the same couple that has filed the lawsuit are the same people who are running the website on Facebook. AGAIN I ask, Would this letter to the Editor have been sent if YOUR candidate had won in March? A valid question indeed.

reallytiredofit, you obviously don't understand the way government (especially Trumbull County) works or the way the health department is set up. You also don't seem to understand the issues.

It seems you don't mind spending your time on Trumbull County Septic News. Yet, you apparently don't support what more than 1,300 people are doing. That probably means that you work for the "other side."

People should be careful who they criticize because life has a funny way of bringing those same things back to you in a way that gives a new, deeply personal understanding.

You may appear to be anonymous on this website, but the Tribune knows who you are.
