I agree 4seasons. A friend showed me the resume' of 2 of the candidates. The one that was chosen didn't even enter the race until the eleventh hour. His resume' looked like something hastily scribbled in crayon by a first grader. The second place finisher had a neat and orderly document detailing his education and work history while giving his plans or his term on the BOH. This is Trumbull County backroom politics at it's finest. You would think that one person would have said something to the politician or the public employee about campaigning while in office. Did that happen? Naaaa. This is the Trumbull County Political Mafia. We make the rules. We choose who pays.

As far as I'm concerned the trustees and commissioner who voted for the winning candidate should be subpoenaed as to who made the campaign calls. If there answer is "no one" then they should be ran out of town.

Wake up people!!! This is your money they are taking!

The voters in the townships that were represented with a vote for Mr. Messersmith, need to re-evaluate with whom they place their "trust"! These individuals are costing us all, big-time!

Did the county engineer, Randy Smith, make such an effort to politic for one of the candidates because he has personally received $24,000 in no-bid contract payments over the last four years? Was he concerned he might lose that? Does it have something to do with his relationship with the health commissioner, Dr. Enyeart, who donated large amounts to Smith's political campaign? Smith's employee and long-time friend, Don Barzak, went as far as to illegally cast three votes on behalf of three districts he doesn't even live in. All of which were thrown out after the public caught him and challenged his actions.

One must ask why the county engineer and his employee would stretch so far to ensure their chosen candidate would be elected to the Trumbull County Board of Health. The same board that refuses the public the ability to speak and ask questions of them at their monthly public meetings.

There is more to this triangle. Stay tuned.
