I forgot to mention in my previous comment that if you have wireless service, you can get Netflix for $8 a month and have unlimited movies and TV and pick and choose even more of what you see, as well as watch TV shows on your computer, and depending on your TV, may even use your TV as a monitor to watch the TV shows you see from your computer. Take that, Cable & satellite providers!!!

Remember that you do not have to subscribe to cable or satellite to watch tv. If you have a digital antenna, you can get the local channels without cable. We live in the Niles area. On our digital antenna, we get 16 channels. You buy the antenna once and you're set. It costs $50 and up for an antenna.

Those old shows are still on cable and in black & white. The technology is progress, the trash on it isn't. My still favorite and watch everyday after a long day of work is good ole' Andy and the gang in Mayberry!! I prefer not to watch the trash and therefore DON'T!!

Yes we can all thank the progressives for the "progress" society has made, doesn't that give you all a warm fuzzy feeling of accomplishment?

When I was young I believed censorship was unethical. Today, I only believe censorship is unethical when it blocks the democratic process.

Censorship of nasty, immoral programming makes sense. I can't believe I used to defend that trash.

Anyone who doesn't believe TV affects what young people believe, just look at the data correlating the popularity of the TV show CSI and the number of incoming college freshman declaring their majors as "forensic scientist". 30 years ago most kids had never heard of a forensic scientist and recently it became the most desired job because of TV!
