City: Zoning won’t allow for cabaret

Warren adult club ordered to close soon after opening

March 6, 2013

WARREN — Based on the city’s current zoning laws, a private adult club that was ordered closed on Monday within a few days of its grand opening likely cannot be located in the area where it has been......

Well they've done it again, Warren City has succeeded in ruining a business and another credit score. I can imagine the money invested to convert this building, the binding financial obligations, etc... Their decision has more to do with morality than zoning. People simply are'nt allowed to live their lives or support their families in Warren.

The first action of a suspicious official should be to wait for problems or illegal activity to take place, rather than using regulatory muscle to push people around. It's the city's fault that businesses don't locate or want to do business here. You're too greedy wanting to use fee's to get your cut. What's more amazing? You can do nothing to stop the flow of drugs murdering this city from the inside!

If you're reading this Bruce, I have a building already zoned for what you're looking for, not 7,000 sq ft. but easily converted with none of the city bs. Leave a post I'll locate you from there if interested...

Good - keep it closed. Warren does not need a strip club or spa if it ever wants to recover economically. What fool would spend large amounts of money and establish a business without checking the local zoning laws first?

It is just about zoning. Most communities have zoning plans in place. I can not believe that all this money was placed into the business without checking the legal aspects thoroughly. I have more questions. Who owns the building? Is it the same person who owns the business. I have a feeling that there may be more people involved in this and this reporter of this article needs to follow the money. I think that is just as important to determine as the concept of starting a new business. We have seen too much of the silent owner thing in Warren of late and the tragedies that follow.

Only ine question?? Why would you dumo all this money on opening a business without going through planning, zoning and building. If Warren decides to look further and give the the opportunity for inspections, they would have to tear out walls ceilings etc to expose any electric, plumbing or HVAC. Next problem.....All of this work had to be done by state and city liscensed contractors who are registered with the city! If there where " legal contractors" involved, this is going to cause deep issues for them. Possible fines, loss of state and city liscense and other lwgal repercussions. By no means do I think the city is correct!! There is a way to do things and Mr Gaus obviously did not do them. Now......he cannot even get in there and do any work.....i.e. get anything out!!!! Cease and desist and stop work will keep any and all activity from taking place. Who owns this property? If it is not Mr Gaus, they also have some issues to deal with.

Yes burce was wrong for not getting the right permits BUT I LOVE HOW THEY SAY THIS NEIGHBORHOOD IS A GOOD this neighborhood is nothing but abandoned houses used for drugs and prostitution i love how people bash this club with out doing their homework if you go on the site and actually read the rules you will see that Bruce does not tolerate any illegal drug use and you are not even allowed to have a cell phone in the club this club is nothing but consenting adults having a good time

Just waiting for a city official to play The Moral Hero in this ridiculous spectacle. What went on at Stiletoes is no different than a political get together of local county or city government! Little booze, some music, hanky panky with a swap of a partner here-there. Who cares? It's a party, a private F#@%ING PARTY!

Too bad the business plan wasn't constructed with the knowledge needed to perform such a feat. If indeed the proper model was introduced it still would have been denied and we wouldn't be talking about the closure to begin with. You could take advantage of the building offered that doesn't require the knowledge to cut through city red tape. I find it to be ultra bizarre and out of poor taste to use these boards to promote your own business. You can do a lot better with the right connections instead of taking a chance with this BOGAN BRAINED BRAGGER. Knowledge is key and I would think that would be your biggest priority at the moment. Good Luck!

For all of you that think this business should be allowed to go forward, move it to your neighborhood and see how you like it there. Or better yet, move it to Stillwagon Road where Mr. Gaus lives and let it operate in his neighborhood.

It always seems okay to many of you for these "businesses" to open in Warren because you don't live here. There are still some good people who care for their homes and properties in this neighborhood. Let them maintain some level of decency in their neighborhood.

Apparently the owner tried to hide the club or he would not have sunk so much money into renovations without applying for building and business permits.

Force the Swingers to go "swing" somewhere else!

"For all of you that think this business should be allowed to go forward, move it to your neighborhood and see how you like it there."

Does anyone know offhand how EXTREMELY LARGE(I mean extreme), Warren's "entertainment", district is?

Cabarets(sp), everywhere . . . JUST . . . not there.

The issue at hand isn't private lives but is a business promoting*****in a residential neighborhood. Would it be okay to such a business next to a school? Would it be okay if the business had a day care next door to it. Would it be okay if it opening next door or across the street from your home msmith82? If indeed*****establishments are allowed to operate with in the city limits. They should be restricted as to where their operation is allowed to function. I'm glad to see that the city and its officials did something GOOD in this scenario! EXCELLENT RESULTS!

I doubt that there is anywhere in the US that an inspection isn't required when a place is 'occupied' no matter what the use is. vampireweekend is correct.

Zenith what is the difference between this club and some hole in the wall thug bar that has shootings obviously you did not take my advice and do your homework because if you did you would see there is strict rules when you join this club and as long as the place did not cause trouble i would not care what goes on inside

Koodos to anyone in City government that has so far prevented this UNWANTED establishment to open in Warren. Council, Zoning, and Health must now work to close ALL loopholes that allow this or any other business that detracts from Warren from entering, such as the massage parlors or Summit News. Make permanent ordinances, licenses, or permits to keep this*****O-U-T!!

Delphi retiree just because it is not your cup of tea does not mean you have the right to judge what people do. If you would do your homework you would see that this club has strict rules when you join there are rules in place when you join like no illegal activity is permitted and no illegal drugs or you will be banned for life from the club

Right! Congratulations as your now an EX MEMBER. But you could most likely get a full refund for being shown an apple and being sold a lemon! You know, there are laws against that type of activity too!

msmith, what is right is that I don't have the right to judge what people do...IN THEIR OWN BEDROOM. I DO have the right to judge what is done in a zoned, governed establishment, and the negative influence it has on our City. You are wrong.

Yeah right. You had better repent before something else goes wrong. What goes around comes around .... as they say! A mind is a TERRIBLE thing to waste, on jollies.

Raideralum, guess what. It was. The old swingers club that he owned and operated was at his own house on Stillwagon Rd. It was called Club Firehouse. It was open for years and no one said a word about it. There is a swingers club in New Castle, Youngstown, Cleveland, Akron, and several other cities around here.

Zenieth I had you as an old prude, sorry, you're a religious nut freak who thinks everyone is going to*****cause they aren't like you. People like you make me sick. So let me ask you. If you next door neighbors are swingers, and have couples over to their house to swing. What are you going to do?
